Many women find it daunting to even think about exercise at this time. Unable to focus on oneself for more than a few minutes without interruption, it's almost easier to ignore one's own body entirely. For most women it is months and sometimes years before they will be able to get to a regular class. After each of my pregnancies I have struggled to lose weight and regain my fitness for my work as an aerobics instructor.. I know exactly what the problems are both in practice and in theory. This is a difficult time, physically and psychologically. There is more reason than at any other time to care for your body, which has just taken a hammering but there is less time, energy and opportunity than ever before. Clients often ask for advice when they cannot get to class. So a realistic, motivating exercise and nutrition programme was what I set out to make. I wanted the video/DVD to be informative, encouraging and of course, enjoyable, as a real class would be. Some of my friends/clients are in the film; these are mums to about 35 children at the last count. The women in the video/DVD are at different stages of fitness. I've trained many women through several pregnancies. Women can go back again and again to their pre-pregnancy shape. Many end up a lot fitter than they ever were when they were deskbound. |
